On Tuesday April 17th, 2026, Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Memorial Day, the Yale community gathered at the Anderson Mansion. Toby Hecht, Director of Shabtai, addressed the students, commemorating the six million Jews murdered by the German People. 

On Oct 15th, 2023, one week after the atrocities of Oct 7th in the Land of Israel, hundreds of students, faculty and alumni gathered at the Anderson Mansion for an emergency meeting addressing the strategic alliance between the United States and State of Israel.

In commemoration of Kristallnacht, on Nov 10th 2021, a group of Yale Students gathered at the Anderson Mansion for a screening of the Documentary film The Night of Broken Glass. Professor Jason Stanley opened the evening with personal remarks of his own German Jewish family’s experience in 1938 in Nazi Germany. .

On April 24, 2025, Shabtai NYC hosted a group of leading academics, journalists and business leaders for an intimate conversation with Israeli Cabinet Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Despite a vocal public demonstration outside the event, a constructive and unifying dialogue ensued.

On Sept 17, 2024 Shabtai hosted a delegation of Israeli students and faculty from Reichman University to engage with Yale students about the relationship between the US and the State of Israel.

On April 9th 2024, Anthony Scaramucci, the Founder and Managing Partner of SkyBridge, a global alternative investment firm, and Founder and Chairman of SALT, a global thought leadership forum and venture studio, was invited to Shabtai where he delivered a talk and had an engaging conversation with Yale students.

In Oct 2018, Shabtai hosted Israeli Supreme Court Justice Hanan Melcer at Yale University for a variety of lectures and private talks at Shabtai. As a final discussion on this historic trip Justice Melcer was interviewed by attorney Steve Susman on the unique contributions of Israeli jurisprudence to International and Human Rights Law.

On Oct 30th 2014 Shabtai hosted professor and UN Investigator William Schabas for a discussion at Shabtai/Yale.

On April 10th 2024, Shabtai hosted Human Rights Activist Bassem Eid at Shabtai Yale.

On November 29, 2023, Shabtai hosted Harvard Professor Stephen Greenblatt. During the talk, he discusses the history and implication of antisemitism in Shakespeare's masterful work "The Merchant of Venice."

In January 2023, Walter Reich and James Kirchick were invited to speak at Shabtai D.C. to discuss Holocaust memory and education.

In January 2024, Israeli MK Simcha Rothman was invited to Shabtai to discuss Israel post October 7th.
